University of Colorado
Ron Duren is a professor of leadership and management in the engineering management program at the University of Colorado, Boulder. His passion is leadership development and training executives to perform at their very best under stressful situations. A personal area of interest is performance psychology, drawing direct parallels between sport and business.
Outside of academia, he is a licensed aerobatic pilot, Ironman triathlete, ultra-runner, motivational speaker and blog author. He spent five grueling years building an award-winning aerobatic airplane and was the test pilot for its maiden voyage. He now flies it all over the United States.
In a former life, he was a semi-professional baseball player and rodeo bull rider, which as you can imagine, brings a unique perspective to managing high-pressure situations. You could say he has done his own “field research” on this topic.
