Martin Huddart is the Senior Vice President for Physical Access Control Solutions at HID. This global business unit designs, manufactures, sells and supports HID and Mercury branded mobile access, credential, reader and controller solutions.
Martin joined HID in 2022 but has spent the last 15 years working for the parent company, ASSA ABLOY. Most recently he was Head of Smart Residential, where he was responsible for the global expansion of residential smart locks and other smart home products under the Yale and August brands. Prior to this role, he was President of the Access and Egress Hardware Group of Opening Solutions Americas and was responsible for nine business units making commercial and residential locks and access control solutions in the US. Prior to joining ASSA ABLOY in 2007, Martin spent 11 years leading various electronic security business units of Ingersoll-Rand (now Allegion) in the biometric, electronic locking and enterprise access control and video markets.
Martin has served as Chairman of the International Biometric Industry Association and recently served a term on the board of the Security Industry Association. He has testified twice before US Congress subcommittees concerning access control to critical US infrastructure post 9-11.
Martin holds an MBA from Cornell University’s Johnson Graduate School of Management and a Masters degree in Mechanical and Production Engineering from the University of Manchester, England.
